Joy takes great pride in serving her fellow team members at The Reserve who are dedicating their lives to support residents.

“They inspire me and in return, I hope I can do small and simple things for them,” she says. That includes everything from processing paychecks to planning events to just being there to lend support. Joy had 15 years in the human resources industry when her father was placed in a long-term care facility in 2017. “I saw firsthand the dedication and care the employees took when caring for Dad, and I made my decision that my next job would be in this industry.”

For Joy, commitment is important. “Commitment is what pushes us to persevere, build and invest in something. I get the most satisfaction working amongst peers and colleagues who share this core value. We are all in it together!” she says.

Watching documentaries and true-time is a favorite hobby, as is learning about survival and come-back stories. “I always root for the underdog.” She also likes spending time with friends, researching her next travel destination (she’s already visited 17+ countries and lived in Japan), and “playing” in the kitchen.

Perfect vacation? A week in Cayman lying in the water on the 7 Mile Beach.
