Daphne Sierra Cortes

Director of Memory Care

Creating moments of beauty and joy is important to Daphne. Not only in how her love of painting inspires her to make art reflecting those moments, but how she works with family and staff at The Reserve to make a meaningful difference in the lives of residents and their families.

“It’s incredibly rewarding to see someone’s smile when they connect with something that sparks a memory, or when a family feels at ease knowing their loved one is receiving the best possible care,” says Daphne. She works with families and her team to ensure that each person receives personalized attention in a safe, engaging environment.

Daphne has always held a deep passion for seniors, which grew during her close relationship with her grandfather. “I learned how meaningful it is to offer compassionate care and create an environment where seniors feel seen and supported,” she says. “When I found the Reserve, I was drawn to the strong commitment to make every individual feel valued and cared for, which resonated with my own values.”

Compassion is her guiding core value. “Memory care is about more than managing symptoms; it’s about being present, showing empathy, and providing comfort when it’s most needed.” Daphne received her Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Scranton and a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Humanities from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Her family includes her brother, mom, and boyfriend, as well canine pal, Loki. In her spare time, she enjoys time with family and friends, maybe hosting a small dinner party or walking her dog. She also likes to read and explore new creative hobbies. Her perfect vacation would be a peaceful retreat in a scenic location, such as a mountain cabin or beachfront cottage.

Disconnecting is important to Daphne. “I believe taking time to unwind and recharge is essential to providing the best care for others.”
