Carolyn began making a difference in seniors’ lives when she was just 16, as a hospitality aide serving water and changing linens at a nursing facility where her grandmother was a resident. She then obtained her CNA license and her LVN accreditation. She’s been a floor nurse, charge nurse, assistant director of nursing, wellness specialist, and wellness director.

While interviewing for The Reserve at Lake Austin, Carolyn says she knew she was home. “What I enjoy most about The Reserve is the daily opportunity to change someone’s life. Whether it’s a staff member, resident, or family member, I strive to make everyone happy.” She holds the core value of compassion closest to her heart.

Carolyn is a wife, mother of three, and grandmother of six, and a proud dog owner. When she has spare time, she’s probably crafting, or rockhounding at different lakes and rivers. “Just call me the crazy rock lady,” she says. The Color Purple is her favorite movie and Reese’s is a guilty pleasure.

Her perfect vacation will be an upcoming cruise she’s planned with her father.
